Question number #1: Do I pay any extra to use an agent or broker
The answer had
better be NO. Insurance premiums are regulated by the Department of Insurance,
which means you pay the same amount for your insurance weather you go through
an agent or go direct through the carrier.
The thing to keep
in mind is, if you are using a broker which is what I would suggest you do since they
carry numerous plans. The broker's job is to find you the best plan for your
particular needs they have no vested interest in selling one plan over another
unless it is the best for you.
You should also never pay a fee to an agent or broker to go over
options, they are paid by the insurance company.
